Another wet day for Y6
Day for Y6 in Pensarn
Y6 @ Pensarn - First Evening
Alderley Edge May Fair Parade 2018
Y4 Tri Golfers
Mrs Clee (PE Teacher) reported that despite the team playing very well they just missed out on a medal when they finished in 4th place.
As the competition progressed and the children moved from event to event they all improved their putting and chipping skills.
Wild Environmental Club
The children in The Wild Environmental Club were working towards one of their targets - to plant, grow and eat!!!
We just need to hope they grow in our vegetable patch now! Fingers crossed! Keep an eye on our school vegetable patch!
Cross Country Success
Mrs Clee (PE Teacher) reported that at the Wilmslow Schools Cross Country event at The Carrs the children performed brilliantly!!
The Year 3, 4, 5 & 6 children have been training for the Wilmslow Schools cross country event every week since Easter and all their hard work paid off.
Even though all 10 of the Wilmslow Primary Schools run together, they are classed as either a large or small school for the individual and team competitions.
We are a small school, so our first 3 runners counted towards the team score. Everyone ran brilliantly and we won the Year 3 & 4 girls, Year 5 & 6 girls and Year 5 & 6 boys team events.
There were also 7 individual medals for the following children...
- Yr 3&4 girls 2nd Layla Woollam, 3rd Eva Jenkins
- Yr 5&6 girls 2nd Polly Thorpe, 3rd Kate Berrisford
- Yr 5&6 boys 1st Jamie McCabe, 2nd Jack Everett, 3rd Charlie Wall
Congratulations to everyone who took part, you paced yourselves well, tried so hard and showed great team spirit in encouraging and congratulating each other.
Year 4 Bikeability
Brilliant biking from Year 4 today!
Year 4 took part in Bikeability level 1 which involved a Cheshire East instructor putting them through their paces.
Their bikes were checked and they tried out lots of control manoeuvres on the school grounds.
Year 1 put to work at Styal Mill
Year 1 have been on a wonderful trip to Styal Mill today and have enjoyed weaving, carding, spinning and lots of role play.
They spent their time learning about the Gregg family and what life as an apprentice would have been like.
The Styal Mill staff went out of their way to tell Miss Hilton that the children were a credit to themselves and the school because their listening abd behaviour was so good.
Tri Golf Winners
Ten children from Year 5 took part in a Tri Golf competition at Wilmslow High School.
They rotated around 8 different stations which tested their putting and chipping skills. These included chipping a ball into an upturned umbrella, getting the ball to land in a hoolahoop and hitting the ball at different coloured cones. They scored points depending upon how accurate they were.
There was some excellent putting and chipping by everyone and at the end of all the activities the team had scored 297 points.
However, at this point the team from AECPS had no idea how the other teams had gone on, as everyone kept their own score as they went along.
So, when they were declared the overall winners, they were absolutely delighted!!!
Congratulations to the whole team. They now progress to the Macclesfield Area final.
Andy Jackson (Cheshire Cricket) joined the children's assembly time to talk to the children about 'All Stars Cricket'.
Lots of involvement and keen interest from the children to join!
Check it out on the All Stars Web page https://www.ecb.co.uk/play/all-stars
Y4 start Duathlon
The Year 4 children took part in a Duathlon taster session this week.
They had to be able to run, go to the transition area, where they were penalised if they mounted their bikes too soon.
They then had to cycle, dismount and run again.
Some budding triathlons in the making!
Hopefully some of the Year 4s will continue at KTC Juniors Knutsford
Y4 had a fantastic 3 days at Forest Camp
Day 2 @ Forest Camp for Y4

Year 4 set off to Forest Camp
Year 5 Visit the Cheadle Mosque
Year 5 visited the Cheadle Mosque as part of their religious studies which have recently focused on Islam. Great opportunities were provided to learn about clothing, rituals and the Arabic language. You can see from the photos, they joined in with everything with great enthusiasm!
