What a Super Sports Day!
What an amazing sports day. All the children throughout the school competed in jumping, running and throwing competitions and thoroughly enjoyed the day. Points were collected for individuals and the house teams.
We are delighted to announce the KS1 winning team was Tatton and the KS2 winning team was Capesthorne.
Well done everyone, we are very proud of you all.
Year 6 Celebration Fun Week
Year 6 have had an amazing week with pizza parties, a walk to The Edge, survival skills, a trip to Cheshire Outdoors and it ended with a celebration Farewell Fun Festival on their field.
Unfortunately they couldn't make it to their residential to Pensarn but this certainly help celebrate the end of their primary years and will create long lasting, happy memories.
Well done year 6 and thank you to all the staff.
year 1 bring their teddy to school
Year 1 have worked really hard to achieve their Class Award.
The children chose to have an afternoon in the Environmental area.
They had scavenger hunts, built nests, made bird feeders, played hide and seek and had a Teddy Bears Tea Party.
They even had a Teddy bears picnic Cake made for them too!!
Well done Year 1.
RUNNING BEAR VISIT SCHOOL DURING SPORTS WEEK
Thank you to Running Bear who visited all the classes in school and taught the children the art of running for speed and endurance.
The children had great fun and learnt lots of new techniques in the process.
Let's Dance for the Olympics!
All the children in school had a fabulous dance session with a visiting dance company.
In only half an hour they performed a complete dance that incorporated freeze frames, dance movements and actions to celebrate the Tokyo Olympic Games. From the Olympic rings , track and field events, winning a gold medal and lifting the Olympic flame, their dance had it all!
Children you were fantastic and certainly deserved your gold medal!
year 4 are having a great sports week
What a busy, active week for year 4! Dancing, tennis, night lines, team building, cricket.... we can't fit much more in.
Anyone for Tennis?
During sports week many of our children have visited either Heyes Lane or Alderley Edge Tennis clubs to learn how to play tennis.
The children received expert coaching and played on 'real' courts. Watch out Wimbledon - here we come!
year 3 explore the edge
Sports week got off to an active start in Year 3 as we walked up to the top of the Edge for our snack and drink! The children practised their map reading skills, recognised rocks they had learnt about in science and had some amazing views. They managed to climb over 100 steps to achieve their goal! Well done all, and a big thank you to all our helpers.
Hockey Stars in the Making
Day 2 of Sports Week and Year 5 honed their hockey skills at Alderley Edge Hockey Club.... champions in the making!
We even had our own official Year 5 photographer.
'Duck!' - Tri Golf in Year 2
Year 2 have been working on their swing in their tri-golf lessons.
The children have been working with Mrs Clee to perfect the art of putting and learnt how to hold and swing a golf club.
Y3 orienteering in sports week
Year 3 have been orienteering and learning about counties combining their PE and Geography skills. It was great fun and the children all developed their mapping skills and sense of direction.

The Recipe of a Successful Sports Week
Year 3 have written recipes for a successful Sports Week. They thought carefully about the 'ingredients' and included qualities such as resilience, encouragement, teamwork, positivity, kindness and courage.
Year 2 Really Enjoy Sports Week
Year 2 got off to a cracking start to sports week! Firstly, they took part in the night line and completed all three courses.
After that, they joined up with running coaches from 'Running Bear' and had an enjoyable session running and jumping over hurdles.
What did they say at the end of the day........We would like to do that all over again!
year 5 sports week
Year 5 got off to a flying start in Sports Week. they trained along members of 'Running Bear' then had a brilliant session with Physiofit, learning how to make small changes to our lifestyles to help us become better sportsmen and women.
Netball team back in action
On Wednesday the year 6 netball team were in action in a friendly match against Nether Alderley.
With limited practice, the team put on a brave performance to compete against a strong side.
They showed great determination, commitment and sportsmanship and despite narrowly losing.
Well done team - we hope you enjoyed it and get more opportunities next year!
