Making A Difference At Harvest
As part of their work in school, all the children have been learning about food production and reflecting on how fortunate they are when some families locally struggle to provide enough food for themselves to eat.
Mrs Walsh, Headteacher, said “Social intelligence is an important part of a child’s education at Alderley Edge Community Primary School and harvest is an opportunity for the children to reflect on the world around them and develop their understanding of social justice at an age appropriate level. The children celebrated harvest by performing poems or songs to different year groups during our virtual assembly and by making generous contributions to the local food bank in Alderley Edge. We would encourage all members of our community to continue to support this worthy cause this winter.”
Year 3 Travel Back In Time
Year 3 had an amazing discovery day out today, learning all about the Stone Age and how Stone Age people survived.
They learnt how they made fire, built their shelters and used tools to help them . They learnt the tricky names of the different time periods and they all had a go at the activities. They loved seeing the piglets running around the wood where we were and other animals on the farm.
The children were extremely well behaved and had a lovely time. Well, done Year 3 it was lovely to be back out on school trips!

In Year One, this half term, we have done a super job of logging onto Purple Mash.

River ' The Assistance Dog' Joins Assembly
River joined our assemblies to teach us all about assistance dogs, what they do and how we should behave around them.
We learnt that when River is working we should not approach her and let her focus on her job.
You may now see River working on school as she supports one of our families.
Football Team in Action
The year 5 and 6 football team were in action in the Wilmslow School's league night.
Despite a slow start, the team made great improvements over the games showing fantastic sportsmanship, determination and resilience. We are looking forward to seeing the team progress in the next round.
Year 2 Learn About The Past
As part of their History topic the Year 2s are learning traditional songs and games played and sung by their grandparents and great grandparents, 'In and out of the Dusty Bluebells' and 'The Farmer's in his den.'
They are looking at how roles and jobs have changed over the years and are creating their own versions of the rhymes and games.
