School Council
As well as a School Council each class also has a Class Council. The School Council aims to meets once every half-term to discuss a variety of topics that may have been raised by Class Councils or as a result of previous meetings or because of new developments in school.
Every class selects two children to become the class councillors. These children have the responsibility to raise issues for the School Council's consideration and then to feedback to the Class Council afterwards.
The Alderley Edge School Council have had major inputs into many areas of school development. Some of these have included...
- Redrafting of the school aims so they are accessible to children
- The development of the curriculum
- The school's behaviour Policy
- Child Friendly policies
- Events and functions in school
- Influencing decisions re healthy snacks in school
- Developing the Relaxation Station
