Amazing DT across the school!
Across the school children worked hard on DT projects.
-Year 1 children completed their Christmas weaving projects. They worked incredibly hard and showed real perseverance, especially when the task became challenging.
-Year 2 created their very own hand puppets. They showed fantastic creativity when designing their puppets, carefully thinking about colours, features and materials.
-Year 3 made picture picture frames by measuring, sawing and decorating. The children loved this project and worked really hard on these.
-Year 4 used upcycled materials, and thoughtfully designed and created beautiful hanging decorations, considering both appearance and sustainability. It was wonderful to see their creativity, perseverance and pride as they transformed unwanted materials into meaningful handmade gifts.
-Year 5 explored contemporary textile design by creating their own decorative cushions. They experimented with printing techniques using stencils, fabric paint and fabric pens to develop bold, modern patterns. To finish their designs, pupils learned and applied hand-sewing skills, using running stitch and chain stitch to add detail and assemble their cushions, combining creativity with practical craftsmanship.
- Year 6 showcased their creativity and engineering skills in DT by designing and building moving vehicles. After experimenting with prototypes, pupils developed their own unique designs using pulleys, axle motors, and electrical components such as cells.
