Pupils go for gold in the Bebras Computing Challenge
Recently, Year 5 and 6 took part in the Bebras Computing Challenge, a fun event that helps children explore computational thinking. The challenge is completed online in school, and pupils have 45 minutes to work through interactive tasks that get them thinking logically and solving problems. The Bebras Challenge is open to young people aged 6 to 19, and last year over 3 million students from more than 80 countries got involved—so our pupils were part of something really big! The tasks are designed so that every child can have a go and show what they can do, whether they love maths and computing or not. Some of the activities were tricky, but we were very proud of how the children stuck at it. They showed great resilience and really enjoyed the chance to challenge themselves and try something new. Every child who completed the challenge will receive a certificate and a special mention to 5 children who received a Gold certificate for scoring in the top 10% of the competition nationally: Ada Finch, Aaron O'Connell, Jacob Lamb, Rose Vanden and Hugo Cowgill.
