Reception have been busy!

The Reception children have loved exploring the camping area and mud kitchen as they continue their learning through the theme of The Forest and Nature. Through these activities, they have been developing their creativity, communication skills and understanding of the natural world around them.

In maths the children have used Numicon to explore the different ways that the number 7 can be made, developing their understanding of number composition and early addition. They also enjoyed comparing the weight of a variety of objects in their environment, using language such as heavier, lighter and equal to describe what they observed.

In art children have used both ICT and paint media to create some wonderful forest themed pictures, developing their creativity and confidence in using a range of tools and materials.
