IMPORTANT - Forecast update - Information for parents
Dear Parents and Carers,
The weather forecast for tonight and Friday morning is currently predicting the possibility of heavy snow and blizzard conditions in parts of the country.
At the moment, it’s unclear how much this will affect Alderley Edge and the surrounding areas. Our plan is to open school as normal tomorrow. However, depending on the conditions in the morning, we may need to review this. We will be looking carefully at the situation both locally and in the areas where staff are travelling from. Whilst it may seem to parents that they are be able to access school, please remember that most teaching staff do not live locally and need to travel longer distances to work.
Insufficient staffing levels are usually main reason for whole school or part school closures in periods of bad weather.
As always, we will update you as early as possible in the morning with our decision.
*** Notification of a school closure will only come directly from the school office via School Spider and will be sent at the earliest opportunity but by 8.15 am at the latest***
Speculation on parent social media groups should not be considered reliable.
If school is open, please make sure your child comes in suitable footwear and dressed warmly for the weather.
Thank you for your understanding and support.
Kind Regards
AECPS
