Storm‑Ready Nests: Year 6 Take on the Science Challenge

As part of British Science Week, Year 6 explored how birds build their nests and what makes a strong, weather‑proof structure. After researching different natural materials, pupils designed and created their own prototype nests. To put their creations to the test, we simulated stormy weather by pouring water over them and wafting them with a book to mimic strong winds. Year 6 had great fun investigating which designs could withstand the elements — just like real nest‑building scientists!
