World Book Day in Year 3

Year 3 started their World Book Day with a Mystery Read from... Miss Heeney! They voted on the books they wanted to read and thoroughly enjoyed listening to Miss Heeney's retelling of the tales! Year 3 also took part in the Ultimate Book Character Battle - they each chose a character from a book, noted down all they knew about the character and rated their characters on their intelligence, strength, kindness, sense of adventure and how funny they are, giving evidence for each characteristic. The children then used their Oracy skills to share all about their character in the hope of becoming the Ultimate Champion of the Character Battles. Each character went head to head in 4 rounds before we eventually ended up with our joint winners: Rabbit Fu Fu and Mango the Alligator! Year 3 finished off World Book Day by creating origami corner bookmarks for their books!
