Year 6 Explore ‘Science with Cabbages’!

Year 6 had a fantastic day taking part in Science with Cabbages, an exciting hands‑on workshop that brought science to life in the most colourful (and sometimes rather smelly!) way. The children explored a range of practical investigations, from extracting colours from cabbage leaves to testing acids and alkalis using natural indicators.

They loved getting stuck into real scientific enquiry—predicting, observing, experimenting, and drawing conclusions just like professional scientists. The room was filled with curiosity, collaboration, and plenty of awe and wonder as pupils discovered how everyday materials can reveal amazing scientific secrets.

It was a brilliant day of learning, fun, and cabbage‑powered science!
