Year 3 Discover The Stone Age at Tatton Park, by Mrs Walsh

Year 3 had an amazing Stone Age Experience at Tatton.
They were taken back into the realms of the 3 stone ages, learning about hunter gathering, fire making and shelter building. They even went on a deer hunt!
Rugby Team In The Final, by Mrs Walsh

The Year 5 and 6 Tag Rugby Team has had a fantastic start to the season.
They have been playing against all other Wilmslow schools and managed to get to the final.
They played against Gorsey Bank in the final and narrowly lost by 1 try!

A Busy Few Weeks in Reception, by Mrs Walsh

It has been a busy few weeks for Reception as they have explored the curriculum through the story of "Mrs Wishy Washy".
They have enjoyed retelling and sequencing the story, exploring how bubbles are made and describing their features, ordering numbers by hanging up the washing, exploring capacity and writing initial sounds of the characters to name just a few activities!
Year 6 Investigate Shadows, by Mrs Walsh

As part of the science curriculum, Year 6 investigate how shadows can be changed. Children learn how to give a clear, scientific description of translucent, transparent and opaque and how this property affects an object’s shadow. The children then investigate and explain how an object’s shadow can be manipulated. Finally, children are expected to make informed conclusions from their investigations.

Year 3 having been looking at our changing world in science. The children looked at different seeds found at this time of year and how cleverly the plant disperses them.

Year 1 Have Had a Busy Week, by Mrs Walsh

Year 1 have had a great start to the school year.
In Art, the children used thick and thin brushes to create their art work (they will be their aeroplanes!).
In Maths, the children have been counting objects with accuracy.
In Computing, the children have worked brilliantly, with their learning partners, to login in to Purple Mash.

Our new reception children had their first school lunch today and stayed to play with the year ones.
They really enjoyed their food and were very grown up.

We are delighted to welcome our new reception children this September.
All the children look really smart in their new school unform and have settled brilliantly.
We ar really impressed with how they have adapted to school life and have high hopes for the future.
Making It Move in Year 3, by Mrs Walsh

Year 3 have been working on designing and making a pneumatically powered vehicle.
They learnt and applied the language of axel, chassis and pneumatic power!
They then went on to look at an important engineer, Beatrice Tilly Shilling, who was a famous engineer in World War 2.

Year 6 have celebrated the end of their primary school years with a fun-filled festival on the field.

All our children have performed in their summer productions.
KS2 performed The Lion King, KS1 performed Prirated and Merpeople and reception wowed their parents with a fantastic performance of George and the Dragon.
All the children were super stars remembering all their lines and singing beautifully.

What talented children we have in year 3!
All the year 3 children have been learning to play string instruments. They have only been learning for a term!
On Thursday 21st July, they performed to their parents in the school hall. We really enjoyed their performance. Thank you year 3.
Young Entrepreneurs, by Mrs Walsh

Our year 6s are entrepreneurs in the making.
As part of the design technology and economic well being work , the children in year 6 created stall and held their own mini-summer fair.
The children then donated their earnings to the PTA towards the refurbishment of the playground.

What a fantastic day of sport!
All the children completed in field and track events, excelling individually and competing together as a team.
Ks2 competed in the morning and KS1 in the afternoon.
We have so much fun and it was great to see everyone show their resilience, determination and team work skills.
We saw some super skills and high levels of performance.
Well done to all the children - we are looking at the Olympians of the future.

Our first ever art exhibition was a great success.
The children chose their favouite artwork and had it framed.
They were all displayed together in the hall.
Our children and their families loved looking all the pieces we have from the talented childrenwe have at AECPS.

Well done to all the children for completing the challenge and raising over £2000 for the PTA.

Well done to our amazing cricketers who competed at the Cheshire Finals in Warrington.
They performed brilliantly and came 5th. This puts them as one of the best teams in all Cheshire schools.
We are super proud of them all.
Year 6 Engineers with EDT, by Mrs Walsh

EDT - the UK's largest STEM education charity, spent the morning with Year 6.
EDTs aim is to get as many young people enthused and excited about STEM as possible.
They do this through a wide range of programmes which give students a creative, hands-on learning experience, supported by role models from some of the most exciting science and tech companies, global brands and innovative tech start-ups.
Today's session was all about wind power.
